KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will administer the oath of office and secrecy to its newly elected Central Working Committee on Wednesday, marking the formal constitution of the party’s new leadership after its first national convention in Bharatpur, Chitwan.
According to General Secretary Bipin Acharya, the oath-taking ceremony for the six elected office bearers and 99 elected Central Committee members will be held at 11 AM at the party’s central office, Ghantighar, in Chappalkarkhana, Kathmandu.
The newly constituted Central Committee is also scheduled to convene its inaugural meeting after the swearing-in ceremony. During the meeting, Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane is expected to nominate additional Central Committee members. Under the party statute, the chairperson is authorized to nominate 51 members to the committee.
After completing the Central Committee nominations, Lamichhane is expected to nominate the remaining office bearers in accordance with the party statute, including the vice chairperson, general secretary, two joint general secretaries, treasurer, two joint treasurers, spokesperson, and three joint spokespersons.
