Traffic police penalize 1,592 vehicles in 24 hours, collect over Rs 2 million

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office penalized 1,592 vehicles for violating traffic regulations over the past 24 hours, collecting more than Rs 2 million in fines as part of its ongoing enforcement drive.

According to the office, action was taken against 73 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol, 87 for engaging in ride-sharing, 74 for running red lights, 78 for speeding, and 47 for violating lane discipline.

Traffic police also penalized 87 vehicles for using unauthorized black-tinted windows, 56 for violating no-horn regulations, 32 for entering one-way roads, and 1,058 for various other traffic offenses.

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office said it has recently intensified enforcement against motorists who fail to comply with traffic rules across the Valley.
