KATHMANDU: Active monsoon winds continue to trigger widespread rainfall and cloudy skies across Nepal, with authorities warning of heavy downpours and mountain snowfall on Thursday.

Currently, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is affecting the hilly terrains and the plains of Gandaki, Lumbini, Sudurpashchim, Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces.

Meteorologists forecast continued unstable weather through Thursday, predicting moderate rain, lightning, and snowfall in the high mountain and hilly regions.

While the plains will experience scattered storms, officials have issued a warning for potential heavy downpours in isolated hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, urging residents to remain alert.
