KATHMANDU: With the monsoon becoming highly active and increasing the risk of disasters, vehicular movement on the Kanti Lokpath highway has been temporarily banned during the night.

The District Administration Office of Lalitpur issued a public notice today, stating that all public, private, and passenger vehicles traveling between Makwanpur and Sindhuli via this route are prohibited from operating daily from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM until further notice.

According to the administration, most sections of the Kanti Lokpath are geologically fragile and highly vulnerable to landslides, falling rocks, and road blockages during the rainy season.

This decision was made to ensure the safety of passengers and vehicles, aiming to minimize potential human and material losses. The local authorities have urged the general public, transport entrepreneurs, and all concerned parties to maintain necessary alertness and adhere to the safety measures.
