HETAUDA: Five people were injured when a passenger bus en route from Birgunj to Lamjung overturned on the East-West Highway at Ramantar in Manahari Rural Municipality-7, Makwanpur, on Tuesday night.

According to District Police Office Makwanpur, the vehicle spun out of control and crashed after its steering tie-rod snapped.

Out of the 16 people on board, the five injured passengers received initial treatment at Manahari Hospital before being referred to Chitwan Medical College (CMC) Hospital for further care.

Police and locals successfully cleared the overturned bus from the road, ensuring that highway traffic remained completely unaffected.

The remaining passengers were sent to their destinations via alternative vehicles.
