DHANUSHA: Victims of loan sharking who are marching on foot to Kathmandu to protest have reached Dhalkebar in Dhanusha district.

The protestors, who set off from Janakpur on Thursday, arrived in Dhalkebar on Friday morning on the second day of their journey.

The foot march, dubbed the “Justice March,” has been organized by the Kisan-Majdoor Andolan (Farmers-Laborers Movement), Nepal, and is scheduled to culminate in the federal capital, Kathmandu.

The victims are marching all the way from Janakpur, the capital of Madhesh Province, to Kathmandu to pressure the government to act against predatory lending.

They officially launched their march from Tirahutiagachhi in Janakpurdham around 5:00 PM on Thursday following a brief program.

On Friday, the marchers advanced from Mahendranagar in Dhanusha toward Bardibas in Mahottari. They are expected to reach Kathmandu in about a week.

The protestors stated that they were forced to head to Kathmandu once again to exert pressure on the government, as authorities have failed to implement agreements despite signing them four separate times in the past.
