ABU DHABI: The Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi organized the Nepal-UAE Economic Partnership forum on Thursday, bringing together senior United Arab Emirates (UAE) officials, business leaders, investors, and policymakers to promote Nepal as a destination for trade, investment, tourism, technology, and business collaboration.
In a message to the event, Minister of Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal welcomed greater participation by UAE investors in Nepal’s priority sectors and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to facilitating long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
The forum was attended by Fahad Al Gergawi, undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade, Juma Mohammed Al Kait, advisor to the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism and Treasurer of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, along with senior government officials, chief executive officers, entrepreneurs, and investors.
In his keynote address, Nepal’s Ambassador to the UAE Tej Bahadur Chhetri highlighted the longstanding friendship between Nepal and the UAE and emphasized opportunities for expanding bilateral economic cooperation. He showcased Nepal’s investment potential in clean energy, hydropower, tourism, agriculture, information technology, manufacturing, and infrastructure, while encouraging UAE businesses to explore Nepal’s emerging market.
The program featured thematic presentations on Nepal’s economy, trade and investment, tourism, renewable energy, commercial agriculture, infrastructure, information and communication technology, taxation, innovation, and the digital economy. More than 120 participants attended the event, which also included cultural performances, displays of Nepali handicrafts, promotional materials featuring Nepali orthodox tea, and a networking reception.
