SURKHET: Following the tragic death of Ganesh Nepali, a resident of Mugu who attempted self-immolation in Kathmandu, local youths in Surkhet have launched a protest demanding justice.

Nepali had doused himself in petrol and set himself on fire in Tripureshwor on Thursday following a heated dispute with the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police.

He succumbed to his injuries on Friday while undergoing medical treatment, sparking immediate outrage among the youth.

The protestors are demanding strict legal action against those involved in the incident and proper financial relief for the victim’s grieving family.

Furthermore, they have fiercely criticized the government, stating that an administration that drives its citizens to such desperate measures instead of providing employment opportunities has no right to govern.
