KATHMANDU: On the final and fifth trading day of the week today, Friday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) also decreased by a single digit. The NEPSE, which fluctuated throughout the day, ultimately closed down by 1.13 points. However, the trading volume of NEPSE increased compared to the previous day.
The NEPSE had decreased by 19.67 points on Thursday and by 30.09 points on Wednesday. On Tuesday, it had increased by 24.57 points. On Monday, it had decreased by 26.29 points. Decreasing by 0.04 percent compared to the previous trading day, the NEPSE stopped at 2,600.78 points today.
On this day, the Sensitive Index also decreased by 0.58 points and stopped at 453.60 points. On a percentage basis, this is 0.12 percent lower compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 0.08 percent and the sensitive float index decreased by 0.12 percent.
In the stock market on Friday, at least 10,660,537 shares were bought and sold 53,432 times across 367 companies. According to this, a turnover of Rs 6.86 billion was recorded on Friday.

A turnover of Rs 4.611 billion was recorded on Thursday. A turnover of Rs 4.826 billion was recorded on Wednesday. A turnover of Rs 4.40 billion was recorded on Tuesday. Similarly, a turnover of Rs 3.557 billion was recorded on Monday.
The share prices of 120 companies increased on NEPSE today. While the share prices of 135 companies went down, the share prices of 19 companies remained stable. Out of 13 groups traded on NEPSE today, Friday, the indices of six groups increased while the indices of the remaining 7 groups decreased.
According to this, on NEPSE on Friday, the index of the Commercial Bank group decreased by 0.17 percent, the Development Bank by 0.39 percent, Finance by 0.29 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 0.37 percent, and the Hydro Power group by 0.27 percent. Similarly, while the index of the investment group increased by 0.14 percent, the index of the life insurance group decreased by 0.09 percent. The indices of manufacturing and processing increased by 0.25 percent, microfinance by 0.13 percent, mutual funds by 0.34 percent, and the non-life insurance group by 0.04 percent. In the same manner, while the index of the Others group decreased by 0.23 percent, the sub-index of the Trading group increased by 1.27 percent.
On Friday, investors of Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha earned 10.66 percent on NEPSE. Investors of Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company Limited lost 7.84 percent in share price.
Based on the transaction amount, Nepal Bank Debenture remained in the top position today. On Friday, it recorded a turnover of Rs 899.1 million.
Similarly, based on the number of shares traded, Nepal Bank Debenture was also ahead. On Friday, at least 781,151 units of its shares were traded. Its final trading price today was maintained at Rs 1,174.50 per share.
