KATHMANDU: Munu Mahawar, an additional secretary at India’s Ministry of External Affairs, is arriving in Kathmandu on Monday for energy secretary-level talks scheduled for July 14–15 in Pokhara.
The bilateral meeting, which hasn’t convened since February 2025, will focus on addressing delays in the 220 kV Chameliya-Jauljibi cross-border transmission line and securing India’s approval for Nepal to increase its electricity exports to Bangladesh.
Mahawar is also scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal to build on bilateral energy trade discussions initiated last June.
