NEPSE drops 30.60 points, turnover reaches Rs 7.468 billion

KATHMANDU: On the first trading day of the week today (Monday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has decreased by double digits. NEPSE, which remained volatile throughout the day, finally closed after decreasing by 30.60 points. The trading volume of NEPSE has also increased compared to the previous day.

Decreasing by 1.17 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at 2570.18 points today.

On today’s day, the Sensitive Index also decreased by 3.04 points and stopped at 450.55 points. On a percentage basis, this is 0.67 percent less compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 1.09 percent and the sensitive float index decreased by 0.76 percent.

In the stock market on Monday, at least 41,725,323 shares were bought and sold in 51,295 transactions of 368 companies. According to this, a turnover of Rs 7.468 billion took place on Monday.

In NEPSE today, the share prices of only 22 companies increased. While the share prices of 249 companies went down, the share prices of 4 companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE today (Monday), the indices of all groups decreased and turned red.

According to this, in NEPSE on Monday, the indices of Commercial Bank went down by 0.68 percent, Development Bank by 0.83 percent, Finance by 1.32 percent, Hotels and Tourism by 1.99 percent, Hydropower by 1.98 percent, Investment by 0.88 percent, Life Insurance by 1.07 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 1.36 percent, and the Microfinance subgroup index went down by 0.87 percent.

Similarly, the sub-indices of the mutual funds decreased by 0.81 percent, non-life insurance by 0.75 percent, others by 0.85 percent, and the trading group by 2.30 percent.

In NEPSE on Monday, the investors of Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha earned 5.37 percent. The investors of Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha lost 11.28 percent of their share price.

On the basis of trading volume, NMB Debenture remained in the leading position today. On Monday, a turnover of Rs 484.6 million took place for this.

Likewise, on the basis of the number of shares traded, the mutual fund of NMB Hybrid Fund remained ahead today. On Monday, at least 10,001,600 units of its shares were traded. Its final trading price today was maintained at Rs 9.51 per unit.
