KALIKOT: Two elderly men were killed on Monday afternoon when a landslide buried a traditional watermill in Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality-6, Kalikot.

The victims, identified as Mandir Saud, 46, and Lal Bahadur Saud, 76, had gone to the mill early in the morning to grind grain when a landslide triggered from about 25 meters above partially buried the structure around 1:30 PM.

A rescue team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Krishna Bahadur Khadka from the Mehalmudi Police Post reached the site, located 10 kilometers west of the post, and recovered the bodies.

A special police team led by District Police Chief, DSP Him Bahadur Khatri, has been deployed to the site for further investigation, according to the District Police Office.
