MUSTANG: Mustang police intercepted an illegal shipment of smuggled apparel valued at approximately Rs 435,800 during a routine vehicle check in Thasang Rural Municipality-3.

The contraband, which included shoes, slippers, jeans, and t-shirts, was discovered inside a jeep traveling from the Nepal-China Korala border crossing toward Pokhara.

As the cargo lacked valid customs declaration forms and official paperwork, authorities impounded the vehicle and detained both the driver and the owner of the goods.

The police have handed over the detainees and the seized merchandise to the Mustang Customs Office for further legal action, while keeping the suspect’s identity confidential during the ongoing investigation.
