KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology reports that monsoon winds are currently influencing weather patterns across Nepal, with the monsoon trough positioned near the Terai region in the west and around its normal position in the east.
Across the country, skies remain generally cloudy, with light to moderate rainfall already occurring in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, alongside isolated areas in Madhesh, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim.
Throughout the day and into the night, generally cloudy conditions will persist nationwide, bringing light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning to several hilly, mountainous, and Terai regions.
Furthermore, the division has issued warnings for isolated heavy rainfall in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as parts of the Terai plains in the Lumbini, Gandaki, and Karnali regions.
