JANAKPURDHAM: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party and former Prime Minister, has stated that cooperation among pro-change political forces is essential to safeguard national independence.

Administering the oath of office to executive members and members of the Madhesh Province Committee during the party’s Madhesh Province unity meeting and orientation program held today at the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Foundation in Janakpurdham, Coordinator Dahal noted that with growing challenges to national independence, the Constitution, and the federal system from various angles, a common consensus and collaboration among political parties that fought for change has become indispensable.

“To face difficult circumstances, cooperation is necessary among the political parties that collaborated in the past—from signing the 12-point agreement to forming the Constituent Assembly and drafting the Constitution,” Dahal said.

He emphasized that collaboration is required across the spectrum, ranging from leftist communist forces to parties like the Nepali Congress.

Highlighting that the responsibility of initiating unity by polarizing leftist communist factions has fallen on his party’s shoulders, Coordinator Dahal mentioned that efforts are also underway to seek cooperation with the CPN (UML).
