BIRATNAGAR: Koshi province has completed 73.94 per cent paddy plantation till July 20.

According to Agriculture Extension Officer at the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Cooperatives of Koshi province, Abhimanyu Adhikari, out of 15,383 hectares of paddy land in high-hill districts—Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha and Solukhumbu of Koshi province, paddy plantation has been done on 9,241 hectares of land.

Similarly, out of 67,717 hectares of paddy land in eight mid-hill districts of province—Panchthar, Ilam, Bhojpur,

Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Udayapur, Okhaldhunga and Khotang, paddy plantation has been completed on 48,766 hectares of land.

Adhikari mentioned that paddy plantation has been done on 146,342 hectares of land, out of 193,285 hectares of paddy land, in three Tarai districts of Koshi province, Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari.

Koshi province has 826,646 hectares of arable land.
