KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa announced the upcoming launch of a nationwide initiative titled “Nepali Congress for National Cause” during the 44th B.P. Koirala Memorial Day event in Kathmandu.

Set to officially begin on September 9 (B.P. Koirala’s birth anniversary), the campaign aims to modernize the party by combining the legacy of veteran leaders with the technology, fresh perspective, and energy of the younger generation.

During his address, Thapa delivered a sharp critique of the current government, warning that no one has the right to commit “dark deeds” under the guise of good governance.

He accused the administration of undermining constitutional integrity by attempting to turn the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) into a mere extension of the Prime Minister’s secretariat.

Challenging the government to clarify media reports regarding the intimidation of CIAA officials, Thapa dismissed internal factional attacks against him and reaffirmed that the Nepali Congress must stand firm as an accountable national force.
