KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran democratic movement fighter and former Deputy Prime Minister Gopalman Shrestha.

Sharing his tribute on the social media platform X, President Paudel stated that the contributions made by the Nepali Congress leader during the difficult days of struggle for the establishment and restoration of democracy in the country will always be remembered.

Recalling Shrestha as a simple person who was perpetually dedicated to democracy, the President noted that his passing has caused an irreparable loss to the nation’s democratic movement. Furthermore, President Paudel extended heartfelt tributes to the late Shrestha while expressing sincere condolences to the bereaved family members and well-wishers during this hour of grief.
