KATHMANDU: In a major political initiative to defuse mounting communal tensions in Sunsari district, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has called an all-party meeting at Singha Durbar for tomorrow at 8:00 AM.
The high-level emergency dialogue, set to take place in the Public Accounts Committee meeting room, aims to forge a unified political consensus to restore peace and contain potential hate speech following fatal clashes in Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3.
According to the party’s secretariat, formal letters have been dispatched to all parliamentary parties, with Chairman Lamichhane personally reaching out to top leaders via phone.
Key regional leadership—including Upendra Yadav, Mahantha Thakur, and CK Raut—has also been extended direct invitations to ensure broad-based representation.
Outlining the rationale behind the urgent convergence, RSP General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya stated that while administrative measures are underway to secure law and order, a collective political message is imperative.
“In light of this sensitive and tragic incident and the surrounding tension, a joint political stance and public appeal are essential to prevent social animosity and maintain peace and harmony alongside administrative actions,” Acharya emphasized.
