KATHMANDU: The government has issued an appeal for calm and restraint following violent clashes in Kaptanganj, Dewan Ganj Rural Municipality-3, Sunsari.

In an official statement released by Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Hem Raj Aryal, the government pledged full coverage for the medical treatment of all injured victims through the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene, alongside appropriate compensation and strict legal action against perpetrators.

To prevent future escalations, the Ministry of Home Affairs has formed a high-level probe committee tasked with submitting a comprehensive investigation report within seven days.

Reaffirming its commitment to social harmony, the government urged citizens to avoid provocative acts, reject misleading information, and uphold Nepal’s centuries-old tradition of religious tolerance.
