KATHMANDU: The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) held an interactive meeting with the World Bank Group’s Country Private Sector Diagnostic Study (CPDS) team in Kathmandu on Thursday.
During the session, HAN President Mr. Binayak Shah highlighted major issues concerning investment in Nepal’s hotel sector, policy reforms, and the need for sustainable growth strategies to strengthen the country’s hospitality industry.
Office bearers, Executive Committee members, and HAN’s legal advisor also shared their insights and experiences, focusing on the broader challenges and opportunities within the hotel and tourism sectors.
They stressed the importance of targeted interventions to harness Nepal’s full potential for tourism-driven economic growth.
Both sides exchanged views on addressing existing constraints, promoting competitiveness, and creating an enabling environment for tourism and hotel development.
Reiterating its long-standing position, HAN underscored the necessity of favorable investment policies, simplified administrative procedures, and adoption of green and sustainable practices.
The association emphasized that such measures are vital to restore investor confidence and ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of Nepal’s hospitality industry.
