KATHMANDU: Former Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Pandey, has said self-discipline and dedication build a foundation for a cultured society.
Addressing a programme organized by the Tindhara Sanskrit Hostel under Valmeeki Vidyapeeth of Nepal Sanskrit University, Pandey viewed if one attains proficiency in both Sanskrit and English, he/she can build a leadership role anywhere in the world.
In the program held in the federal capital on Wednesday, Chief of the Valmeeki Vidyapeeth, Prof Achyut Lamichhane, stated that Sanskrit education has been producing skilled human resources in the fields of politics, literature, teaching, administration and culture.
Noted journalist and political analyst Purushottam Dahal expressed the view that Tindhara Sanskrit Hostel has played a vital role in producing political personality, development experts, literary figures and cultural critics in Nepal.
During the program, former supervisors of the Hostel were honored. Those honored include Vidyanath Upadhyay, Neelmani Dhungana, Purushottam Dahal, Ramchandra Gautam, Ramhari Dhakal, Yatiraj Bhattarai, Dhrubra Prasad Gyawali, Arjun Babu Dahal and Ravindra Neupane.
