KATHMANDU: Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chetan Narayan Acharya has called for dialogue and negotiation to address the electricity supply disruptions affecting industries that have defaulted on payments for dedicated feeders and trunk lines.

Following the Nepal Electricity Authority’s suspension of power, numerous industries in the province have shut down, leaving thousands of workers unemployed and negatively impacting the local economy.

In a press release, CM Acharya emphasized that the federal government should act as a mediator, facilitating communication and cooperation between the authority and industry owners to find a long-term solution.

He stressed that all stakeholders must act responsibly and sensitively to restore confidence in industrial operations, protect workers’ rights, and maintain economic stability.

The Lumbini provincial government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting industrial growth, safeguarding labor interests, and supporting the province’s overall economic development.
