Kathmandu: On Wednesday, the NEPSE index fell by 20.56 points, closing at 2,544.59. Earlier, on Tuesday, the index had risen by 3.21 points to reach 2,565.16. On Monday, it had declined by 5.80 points, ending at 2,560.29.
Despite the drop in the NEPSE index today, trading volume saw a slight improvement compared to the previous day. On Tuesday, a total of NPR 3.62 billion worth of 7.947 million shares were traded, whereas today, 8.044 million shares of 321 stocks were exchanged, totaling NPR 3.84 billion across 66,824 transactions.
The sensitive index declined by 3.33 points, the float index decreased by 1.33 points, and the free float index dropped by 1.09 points.
Shares of Bhugol Energy, Sagar Distillery, Bunglal Hydro, and Bandipur Cable Car traded at the positive circuit level. Bhugol Energy shares rose by NPR 62 per share, closing at NPR 682. Meanwhile, Daramkhola Energy shares fell the most, dropping 8.72% to NPR 522.10, and Mabilung Energy shares decreased by 8.21% to NPR 516.20.
Based on trading volume, the most active shares were Sahas Urja Limited, Radhi Hydropower Company, NRN Infrastructure, Shivam Cement, and Union Hydropower.
Among the 13 subgroups, one subgroup’s index rose while 12 subgroups’ indices fell. The production and processing subgroup saw a slight increase, whereas the trading subgroup experienced the largest drop of 2.35%. Other subgroups declined by more than 1%, while the remaining subgroups fell by less than 1%.
