KATHMANDU: On the first trading day of the week, today (Monday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has gone down by double digits. The turnover amount has crossed Rs 5.5 billion.
The NEPSE has decreased by 26.72 points on Monday. Compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE, which decreased by 0.96 percent today, has stopped at 2755.37 points.
On today’s day, the sensitive index also decreased by 4.78 points and stopped at 470.72 points. On a percentage basis, this is 1 percent less compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index decreased by 0.77 percent, and the sensitive float index decreased by 0.73 percent.
In the share market on Monday, at least 13,383,816 unit shares were bought and sold in 63,719 transactions of 349 companies. According to this, a transaction of Rs 5.614 billion took place on Monday.

In the share market today, the share prices of only 35 companies increased. While the share prices of 233 companies went down, the share prices of two companies remained stable. In NEPSE today (Monday), out of 13 groups traded, the indices of two groups increased. The indices of the remaining 11 groups, however, decreased.
According to this, on Monday, the indices of Commercial Bank went down by 0.99 percent, Development Bank by 0.81 percent, Finance by 0.50 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 1.40 percent, Hydropower by 1.97 percent, Investment by 1.22 percent, Life Insurance by 0.79 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 1.42 percent, Microfinance by 0.90 percent, and Mutual Fund group by 0.91 percent.
Similarly, while non-life insurance increased by 1.37 percent and the index of the other group increased by 3.36 percent, the sub-index of the trading group decreased by 6.14 percent.
In NEPSE on Monday, while the investors of Nepal Re-Insurance Company earned 14.99 percent, the investors of Bungal Hydro Limited lost 13.20 percent of their share price.
On the basis of transaction amount, Ankhukhola Hydropower Company remained in the foremost position today. On Monday, a transaction of Rs 430.4 million for Ankhukhola took place.
Similarly, on the basis of the number of shares traded as well, Ankhukhola itself remained ahead today. On Monday, its shares worth 997,531 units were bought and sold. Its final trading price today, however, remained maintained at Rs 431 per unit.
