NEPSE falls to 2,935.94, turnover hits Rs 15.09 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has decreased by 24.45 points to settle at 2,935.94 points. Although the NEPSE index declined on Wednesday, the turnover amount has increased.

While a turnover of Rs 14.83 billion was recorded on Tuesday, shares worth Rs 15.09 billion were bought and sold on Wednesday. While the prices of 45 companies increased, the prices of 213 companies decreased, and seven companies remained stable. The companies with the highest turnover on Wednesday include Ngadi Group, Api Power, Shivam Cement, Super Madi Hydropower, and SY Panel.

The trading group increased the most by 3.45%. With two companies listed in this group, the trading group rose the most on Wednesday as the price of Bishal Bazar, the market’s most powerful company among them, increased by 3.77%.

Similarly, the Manufacturing and Processing group has increased by 0.48%. The indices of all other groups declined. Banking decreased by 1.40%; Development Bank, by 2.32%; Finance, by 2.09%; Hotels and Tourism, by 0.05%; Hydropower, by 0.16%; Investment, by 0.53%; Life Insurance, by 1.39%; Microfinance, by 1.64%; Non-Life Insurance, by 1.15%; and the Others group, by 1.70%.

The prices of five companies increased by 10%. The companies that increased by 10% include Reliance Spinning Mills, Solu Hydropower, Super Khudi Hydropower, Bhujung Hydropower, and Hotel Forest Inn. Similarly, the price of Panchakanya Mai Hydro increased by 9.7%. The price of Abhiyan Laghubitta decreased the most by 7.74%. The prices of Salpa Bikas Bank decreased by 6.99%, Corporate Development by 6.71%, and Sindhu Bikas Bank by 6.09%.
