KATHMANDU: On the second trading day of the week today (Tuesday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by double digits. The trading amount, however, has decreased.

The NEPSE increased by 22.21 points on Tuesday. Rising by 0.80 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE halted at 2,777.58 points.

On this day, the sensitive index also increased by 2.78 points and halted at 473.51 points. On a percentage basis, this is 0.59 percent higher compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 0.72 percent and the sensitive float index increased by 0.63 percent.

In the stock market on Tuesday, at least 11,385,100 units of shares were bought and sold in 61,527 trades of 346 companies. According to this, a turnover of Rs 5.265 billion took place on Tuesday. On Monday, a turnover of Rs 5.614 billion had taken place.

The share prices of 184 companies increased today in the stock market. While the share prices of 77 companies went down, the share prices of 10 companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded today (Tuesday) in NEPSE, the index of the manufacturing and processing group decreased by 0.42 percent, while the indices of the remaining 12 groups turned green.

According to this, on Tuesday, the indices of commercial banks increased by 0.41 percent, development banks by 0.59 percent, finance by 6.03 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.12 percent, hydropower by 0.61 percent, investment by 0.20 percent, and life insurance groups by 0.27 percent. Similarly, the index of the manufacturing and processing group decreased by 0.42 percent.

Likewise, the sub-indices of microfinance increased by 0.40 percent, mutual funds by 0.29 percent, non-life insurance by 1.02 percent, others by 3.84 percent, and trading groups by 1.13 percent.

In NEPSE on Tuesday, while the investors of Kalinchowk Hydropower Limited earned 14.98 percent, the investors of Nabil Debenture lost 4.59 percent in share price.

In terms of trading amount, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company remained at the forefront today as well. On Tuesday, a turnover of Rs 467.6 million took place for Ankhu Khola. On Monday, a turnover of Rs 430.4 million had taken place for Ankhu Khola.

Similarly, in terms of the number of shares traded as well, Ankhu Khola itself remained ahead today. On Tuesday, at least 1,081,313 units of shares of this company were bought and sold. On Monday, however, at least 997,531 units of shares of this company were bought and sold. Its final trading price today was maintained at Rs 440 per unit.
