KATHMANDU: On the final trading day of the week, today (Thursday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed with an increase of 64.67 points.
Out of the five trading days this week, NEPSE remained open for four days. On Wednesday, however, NEPSE remained closed due to Ghode Jatra. This week, NEPSE, which had decreased by 26.07 points on Monday, had increased by 4.45 points on Sunday and 13.51 points on Tuesday.
Increasing by 2.29 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE stopped at the 2877.02 mark. On today’s day, the Sensitive Index also increased by 11.62 points and stopped at the 494.19 mark. Based on percentage, this is 2.40 percent higher compared to the previous day.
In the stock market on Thursday, 56,920,608 units of shares were bought and sold through 191,251 transactions of 342 companies. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 21.223 billion occurred on Thursday.
In NEPSE on Sunday, a turnover of Rs 14.329 had occurred. A turnover of Rs 11.974 billion had occurred on Monday, while a turnover of Rs 12.03 occurred on Tuesday. On Wednesday, however, NEPSE remained closed due to the public holiday yesterday.

The share prices of 240 companies increased in the stock market today. While the share prices of only 22 companies moved downward, the share prices of two companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded in NEPSE on Thursday, the sub-indices of all groups increased.
Accordingly, the index of the Commercial Bank group increased by 3.16, Development Bank by 3.95, Finance by 1.94, and the Hotel and Tourism group by 1.75 percent. Similarly, hydropower increased by 2.29, investment by 1.77, life insurance by 2.76, and the manufacturing and processing group moved upward by 1.89 percent.
Likewise, microfinance increased by 1.24, mutual funds by 0.04, non-life insurance by 1.80, others by 1.97, and the trading group index by 0.16 percent.
A positive circuit was hit in the share prices of Corporate Development Bank, Salpa Bikas Bank, and Reliance Spinning Mills in NEPSE on Thursday. That is, the investors of these corporations, Salpa and Reliance, earned 10 percent.
Similarly, the investors of Nepal Life Samriddhi Yojana suffered a loss of 5.12 percent.
Based on the turnover amount, the highest turnover today was of Ngadi Power Company at Rs 671.6 million. The final trading price of Ngadi remained at Rs 474. Likewise, based on the number of shares traded, the highest number of shares of Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower were bought and sold at 2,548,271 units. Its final trading price, however, remained at Rs 235 per unit.
