KATHMANDU: Police have removed several vehicles that were suspiciously parked on roads outside media houses and a Bhatbhateni Supermarket in Kathmandu.

The unattended vehicles were found outside Kantipur Publications in Tinkune, Onlinekhabar in New Baneshwor, Himalayan Television in Mid-Baneshwor, and Bhatbhateni Supermarket in Anamnagar. Police removed the vehicles as part of a security operation.

The vehicle parked directly in front of the Kantipur gate was towed away using a crane after it temporarily disrupted traffic on the road.

According to records from the Department of Transport Management, the vehicle bearing registration number Ba. Pra. 01-034 Cha 8480, found outside Kantipur, is registered in the name of Sanima Bank. The vehicle parked outside Himalayan Television (Ba.10 Cha 1255) is registered to Subash Bhandari, while the vehicle outside Onlinekhabar (Ba.12 Cha 8545) is registered to Sunil Poudel.

Police said an investigation is underway to identify the individuals responsible for abandoning the vehicles on public roads.
