KATHMANDU: Niharika Rajput and Binu Yadav staged a sit-in protest outside the southern gate of Singha Durbar on Monday, alleging that the Home Minister refused to meet them as they sought justice.

Rajput, who had previously filed a rape case against Shivraj Shrestha, reached a court-mediated settlement with him on January 31, 2023. The agreement was reached before Dhanusha District Court Judge Brajesh Pyakurel under Section 193(4) of the National Civil Procedure Code, 2017.

As the protest took place in a prohibited area, police removed the demonstrators from directly in front of the Singha Durbar gate and relocated them to a nearby location.
