KATHMANDU: A regular police patrol team has arrested 26 individuals from various parts of the country after catching them in possession of illegal drugs.
According to the Central Police News Desk, two individuals were arrested from Kaldhara in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-17 with 590 tablets of the controlled drug Tramadol.
Similarly, two others were apprehended from Nayabasti in Gokarneshwar Municipality-6 with 21 ampoules of Diazepam, 20 ampoules of Phenargan, 21 ampoules of Buprenorphine, and Rs 20,000 in cash.
Additionally, two individuals were arrested with illegal brown heroin at the Anil Hotel in Jhota Bazar, located in Kedarasyu Rural Municipality-9 of Bajhang.
The operations continued on Friday, leading to several more arrests across different districts.
Police arrested three individuals with brown sugar from the bus park in Birendranagar Municipality-10, Surkhet, and one individual with brown sugar from Kharibot in Bagchaur Municipality-2, Salyan.
In Morang, two individuals carrying brown heroin were arrested from Bargachhi in Urlabari Municipality-7, along with a digital weighing scale and Rs 12,710 in cash.
Furthermore, police arrested three individuals on Friday night from Sisauli Tol in Belbari Municipality-1, Morang, after finding them with 200 tablets of Tramadol and 360 tablets of Dicyclomine.
The arrested suspects have been identified as 30-year-old Roman Rai and 25-year-old Bikal Rai of Belbari-1, alongside 30-year-old Sudesh Rai of Belbari-4.
A police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Belbari, discovered the contraband during a search of Roman Rai’s residence.
The nationwide crackdown extended into Saturday, resulting in the arrest of several more suspects, including one major marijuana bust.
One individual was arrested from Bargachhi in Urlabari, Morang; one from Amahawa in Ramgram Municipality-16, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta Paschim); two from Kamerotar in Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-5; four from Thapuwa in Gulariya Municipality-8, Bardiya; one from Chhepare in Aathbiskot Municipality-14, Rukum Paschim; and one from Chaubiskothi in Khairahani Municipality-8, Chitwan.
Finally, one individual was apprehended from Rampur in Ishwarpur Municipality-8, Sarlahi, in possession of 55 kilograms of marijuana.
