KATHMANDU: The driver of Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Ramji Yadav has been arrested on charges of kidnapping, unlawful detention, and inhumane treatment.

Police arrested 27-year-old Mustakim Miya on Monday. He is originally from Ward No. 1 of Mahadeva Rural Municipality in Saptari and currently resides in Ward No. 3 of Rajbiraj Municipality.

According to police, Miya allegedly abducted the victim, held him hostage, threatened and assaulted him, and stripped him naked before recording a video.

During the investigation, police found evidence that the victim had been kidnapped, beaten, and humiliated while unclothed. Authorities said further investigation into the case is ongoing.

Minister Yadav had appointed Miya as a light vehicle driver on April 10.
