KATHMANDU: The police have seized electronic cigarettes (vapes) lacking proper billing invoices from Ward No. 22 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office confiscated the vapes, valued at approximately Rs 60 million, on Monday night.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Santosh Khadka, 32-year-old Nabin Khadka of Mahalaxmi Municipality-8, Lalitpur, was arrested during the seizure of the un-invoiced vapes.

The vapes were stored in two separate warehouses: “Smile Your Choice,” a shop operating in the underground level of the RB Complex, and “Vapemandu Traders Pvt. Ltd.,” located in another building within the same complex.

SSP Khadka stated that the items were confiscated at night after invoices for 28,500 units of vapes could not be produced.

“An investigation is underway to determine how and through what means the vapes were brought in. We have arrested the individual involved in the transaction and initiated questioning,” said SSP Khadka.
