KATHMANDU: A team from the District Police Range, Kathmandu opened fire and arrested a robber near the Royal Party Palace in Jadibuti.

The arrested individual has been identified as Ganesh Karki, a resident of Bhadrakali, Kathmandu.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Kumar Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Karki sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg.

The incident traces back to Saturday afternoon when a woman was mugged in Sukedhara, during which her gold ornaments and other valuables were stolen.

SP Bhattarai informed that the police had already arrested one suspect involved in the robbery earlier that afternoon.

The second suspect, Karki, was apprehended in the evening after police opened fire in Jadibuti.

According to the police, the arrested suspect is currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center for the injury to his left leg.
