KATHMANDU: Six people have been arrested on charges of defrauding Rs 9,758,000 in the name of foreign employment.

According to the Central Police Newsroom, those arrested recently are Ram Bahadur Ale Magar of Rautamai Rural Municipality-4 in Udayapur, Ashish Karki of Lahan Municipality-6, Lok Bahadur Shrestha of Tokha Municipality-4, Tulasa Pun Magar of the same municipality-3, Krishna Prasad Pokharel of Tansen Municipality-7, and Prabin Shrestha of Chandragiri Municipality-11.

Among the accused, Ram Bahadur defrauded Rs 3,958,000 from four individuals promising to send them to Canada and Ashish defrauded Rs 1,300,000 from three individuals by luring them with prospects in New Zealand.

Likewise, Lok Bahadur defrauded Rs 1,900,000 from one individual promising good earnings in the United Kingdom and Tulasa defrauded Rs 1,000,000 from one victim promising to send them to America.

Meanwhile, Krishna Prasad defrauded Rs 1,000,000 from one individual by luring them with prospects in Dubai; and Prabin defrauded Rs 600,000 from one individual promising to send them to Serbia.
