KAILALI: Police have arrested two individuals, including an Indian national, in possession of 145 grams of the illicit drug brown sugar in Kailali district.

The arrests were made along the Dhangadhi-Jugeda road section located in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-8, according to an official bulletin by the Nepal Police today.

The apprehended individuals have been identified as 27-year-old Nirajan Thakulla, a resident of Bangrakataan, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-9, Kailali, and 28-year-old Rinku Gupta, a resident of Palia, India.

A team of police personnel intercepted the duo during a security check along the road corridor, leading to the discovery and subsequent seizure of the contraband. Following the recovery of the 145 grams of brown sugar, both individuals were immediately taken into police custody. Authorities stated that further legal proceedings and detailed investigations into the drug smuggling link are currently underway.
