KATHMANDU: The President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Masato Kanda, has arrived in Kathmandu for an official visit, sharing the announcement of his arrival via the social media platform X.
Upon reaching Nepal, he reiterated ADB’s commitment to continually supporting the country’s development, transformation, and long-term economic growth.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the ADB will keep backing infrastructure development essential for job creation and expanding new economic opportunities.
The ADB stands as one of Nepal’s major development partners. According to President Kanda, various development projects worth approximately USD 3.9 billion are currently active in Nepal with ADB funding.
During his visit, he stated that he plans to discuss the development priorities to be set by Nepal’s new government and expressed his eagerness to participate in high-level talks to achieve this.
He also conveyed his confidence that the six-decade-long cooperation and partnership between Nepal and the ADB will grow even stronger in the days ahead.
