KATHMANDU: A new initiative aimed at fortifying Nepal’s tourism sector against future emergencies has been launched through a tripartite collaboration.

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter, the Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM), and the Government of Switzerland have officially signed an agreement to develop a comprehensive ‘Tourism Crisis Management Handbook.’

Specifically tailored for Nepali tourism stakeholders, the forthcoming handbook is designed to equip local destinations with the practical tools and frameworks necessary to navigate emergencies effectively.

The initiative aligns with Switzerland’s long-standing commitment to strengthening Nepal’s tourism infrastructure, focusing on a resilient, long-term future that safeguards both international visitors and local host communities.
