KATHMANDU: The funeral of prominent civic movement leader Devendra Raj Pandey was held today at Pashupati Aryaghat.

Pandey passed away on Friday evening at the age of 87 at his residence in Bishalnagar.

To pay their final respects, several high-profile figures gathered at Aryaghat, including Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) leaders Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Agni Prasad Sapkota, and Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party leader Santosh Pariyar, alongside other civic leaders, writers, and activists.

Reflecting on his legacy, NCP leader Shrestha stated that Pandey’s contributions to the democratization and transformation process of the country remain incomparable.
