Former PM Madhav Nepal departs for Russia to attend communist conference

KATHMANDU: Madhav Kumar Nepal, co-coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party and former Prime Minister, has departed for Russia.

At the invitation of the Russian Communist Party, former PM Nepal left last night to participate in the International Communist Conference.

According to party leader Taj Mohammad Miya, Nepal is scheduled to address the conference tomorrow, May 25.

During his visit, he is scheduled to hold meetings with top leaders of the Russian Communist Party, including General Secretary Gennady Zyuganov.

Their discussions will focus on strengthening friendly relations between Nepal and Russia, economic development, and matters of mutual interest.

Former Prime Minister Nepal is scheduled to return home on May 27.

Party spokesperson Prakash Jwala has also departed for Russia alongside leader Nepal to participate in the event.
