KATHMANDU: Senior Supreme Court Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla has taken a 20-day leave after Manoj Kumar Sharma was appointed as Chief Justice on Tuesday.

Malla, who had been serving as Acting Chief Justice, was dissatisfied after being overlooked despite being the senior-most justice at the Supreme Court.

She approved her own leave before Sharma formally assumed office, according to Supreme Court officials.

Sharma took oath before President Ram Chandra Paudel on Tuesday.
