KATHMANDU: The 101st Senate meeting of Kathmandu University has formed a recommendation committee to appoint a new Vice-Chancellor.

The meeting, chaired today by Sasmit Pokharel, Minister for Education and Sports and Pro-Chancellor of the university, decided to form a three-member recommendation committee to move the Vice-Chancellor appointment process forward.

The formed committee is coordinated by Pro-Chancellor and Minister Pokharel. The members of the committee include Reshu Aryal Dhungana and Prof. Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma. Dhungana is a member of the National Planning Commission, while Sharma is the Chairman of the Kathmandu University Protection Committee and the founding Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The committee will select and recommend qualified candidates for the position of Vice-Chancellor. With this, the formal process for choosing new leadership at the university has officially begun.

Kathmandu University has been making significant contributions to educational quality, research, and innovation. With the appointment of the new Vice-Chancellor, further expectations have been set regarding the university’s future educational and institutional development.
