KATHMANDU: A major landslide near Tuin Khola on the Muglin–Narayangadh road section in Chitwan on Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m. has completely blocked traffic.

The clearance work resumed Thursday morning at 6 a.m. after being halted overnight due to heavy rainfall, according to the Bharatpur office.

Machinery has been deployed from both sides to remove the debris, and authorities have said it will take some time before the road is fully reopened.

The Road Division Office in Bharatpur has advised the public to use alternative routes as the clearance process is expected to take time.

The landslide has caused significant inconvenience to travelers during the Dashain festival. Although heavy rain fell overnight, it was uncertain whether additional landslides occurred, prompting authorities to restart the clearance work Thursday morning.AE from September 27 to 29.
