HETAUDA: The District Administration Office, Makwanpur, has issued an urgent advisory halting all travel on the Kanti Lokpath (Hetauda–Kathmandu road section) between 5:00 PM and 5:00 AM on June 30 and July 1.
Chief District Officer Basanta Raj Adhikari stated that the decision follows a safety warning from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority predicting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, which poses risks of landslides, floods, debris flows, and road blockages in hilly and mountainous regions.
The administration has strictly prohibited risky activities such as fishing, swimming, boating, and crossing rivers, while advising residents near riverbanks and slopes to stay alert and avoid unnecessary movement.
Commuters are urged to follow official weather updates and security directives, and immediately report any emergency to the local security forces or the District Administration’s emergency helpline at 1149.
Furthermore, security personnel may temporarily close other district roads based on ongoing risk assessments during the monsoon.
