POKHARA: A landslide at Tuin Khola along the Muglin–Narayangadh section has also affected traffic movement on the Pokhara–Kathmandu highway.

According to Ain Kumar Shahi, chairman of the Prithvi Highway Bus Operators Company Limited, traffic congestion has increased heavily in the Muglin area, which in turn is impacting vehicles operating between Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Due to the landslide, vehicles are facing long traffic jams, preventing passengers from reaching their destinations on time, he said.

Continuous landslides have forced authorities to close the Muglin–Narayangadh road section to clear debris.

Shahi further explained, “As road transport has been disrupted on the Muglin–Narayangadh stretch, vehicles heading towards Nepal’s western regions have started rerouting via Pokhara, leading to extreme pressure on this section as well.”

On the Pokhara–Kathmandu route alone, around 400 passenger buses under the Prithvi Highway Bus Operators Company run daily, he said.

With the Dashain festival approaching and a large number of people traveling, the road blockage has created severe difficulties for public movement, he added.
