KATHMANDU: Six people were killed and 118 others injured in road accidents reported across Nepal within the last 24 hours, according to traffic accident statistics released by Nepal Police today.
The data shows that Kathmandu Valley recorded the highest number of injuries, while Gandaki Province reported the highest number of fatalities during the reporting period.
According to the police report, Kathmandu Valley witnessed one death and 41 injuries. Gandaki Province recorded three fatalities and two injuries, making it the deadliest region in terms of road accidents over the 24-hour period.
Lumbini Province reported two deaths and 12 injuries, while Madhesh Province recorded no fatalities but a significant number of injuries, with 25 people hurt in separate accidents.
Similarly, Koshi Province reported 22 injuries without any fatalities. Sudurpashchim Province recorded seven injuries, Bagmati Province outside the Kathmandu Valley reported five injuries, and Karnali Province recorded four injuries. No deaths were reported in these provinces.
