KAILALI:Two women were killed after being swept away by a flash flood in the Godawari River in Kailali district.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogendra Timilsina of the District Police Office, the deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Maheshwori Dhamala and 40-year-old Kalpana Saud of Godawari Municipality-4.

They were swept away by the river this morning while heading towards the forest to look for mushrooms.

Their bodies were found behind the Bandevi Temple.
