Morang police arrested a youth from Biratnagar Municipality-3 on charge of black-marketing medicines on Thursday afternoon.

The arrestee has been identified as Rabindra Mahato (22), proprietor of Paschimbasi Pharmacy and a resident of Fulkahakatti, Dhangadhimai Municipality-7 in Siraha.

Mahato was found to be maintaining two account books. He was updating the actual price in one account book and a highly inflated price in another. He had been selling medicines by showing the account book with higher prices to customers. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Morang-based District Police Office arrested Mahato.

Mahato has been charged under the Black-marketing and Social Crime Punishment Act, 2032, and further investigation is underway, informed the Morang-based District Police Office.
