Police in Kanchanpur district on Friday morning arrested a youth on charge of raping a 19-year-old girl from Bedkot Municipality-6. Meanwhile, another accused has been absconding.
The accused have been identified as Dhan Bahadur BK (23) and Sippu Khuna (24), both residents of the same municipality in Kanchanpur district.
They allegedly raped the girl by luring her to a local nursery on Thursday evening. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Kanchanpur-based District Police Office (DPO) nabbed Dhan Bahadur BK.
The police are looking for Sippu Khuna and further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
Kanchanpur police on Saturday afternoon arrested a youth on charge of raping a 17-year-old girl from Dhodhara Chadani Municipality-3.
The accused has been identified as Nabin Sunar, a 24-year-old, resident of the same municipality in Kanchanpur district.
Sunar allegedly raped the girl on Friday night. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Chadani Dhodhara-based Area Police Office nabbed Sunar.
Further investigation into the case is underway, informed the Area Police Office, Chadani Dhodhara.
