KATHMANDU: Electronic voting is currently underway to elect 99 central committee members at the ongoing first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Chitwan.

According to Bhuwan KC, the chief of RSP’s Central Election Commission, the voting started at 12:30 AM last night and is scheduled to conclude by 11:00 AM this morning.

Although the RSP Central Committee consists of 158 members, 99 positions are being filled through this election, for which 384 candidates are contesting.

The party statute states that the remaining members will be nominated later.

Meanwhile, Rabi Lamichhane has already been elected unopposed as the party Chairman.
